Weddings
If you’re reading this then you have more than likely made the happy decision to get married. Getting married now gives you and your ‘Life Time Partner’ some huge choices.
Every couple want the Wedding of their dreams and on most occasions everything is planned down to the last letter.
However, what most people are not aware of is that the words of the ceremony itself can also be personalised as long as the following is adhered to:
In 1994 The laws in the United Kingdom changed, allowing other licensed venues other than registry offices to be used for civil marriage ceremonies, more recently many of these venues have subsequently been licensed for registrars to also perform the legalities of a Civil Partnership agreement.
What is not so commonly known is that ONLY the Declaratory Words, and the Contracting Words have to be said in a Registry Office or a licensed venue, in order for your marriage to be recognised in law and for a marriage certificate to be issued. I am also cater for same sex marriages.
Declaratory
“I do solemnly declare that I know not of any lawful impediment why I (your name) may not be joined in matrimony to (partners name)”
Contracting
“I call up these persons here present to witness that I (your name) do take thee (partners name) to be my lawful wedded wife (or husband)” (this wording will vary slightly for couples forming a Civil Partnership)
These words are the only legal requirements for marriage, as well as formally identifying yourselves to the registrar and signing the marriage/civil partnership register in front of two independent witnesses and a registrar.
The service itself, including the exchanging of rings and saying of vows to one another is purely ceremonial and can therefore take place literally ANYWHERE – you are limited only by your dreams and aspirations.
Your choice of location could be a simple ceremony in your home or garden, or at sunset on the beach with the waves crashing around you, a local beauty spot, or in the middle of a bluebell wood… all you have to do is choose and (get permission).
With all my couples I can help if required in the writing of your vows if, also helping to select appropriate music and readings if you desire. Each ceremony is individually written for each couple and will be totally unique reflecting your love and commitment to one another on your special day.
Renewal of Vows
Many couples choose to renew their wedding vows for many different reasons:
Sometimes couples want to celebrate a special anniversary by re-affirming their love and commitment to each other in a unique, personalized ceremony.
Sometimes relationships fall on difficult times so a celebration of a new start by the renewing of promises and re committing to each other is a perfect start to new beginnings.
During a marriage one of you may have been faced with a serious illness, health issues or just a life changing experience so a Renewal of your Vows Ceremony gives you a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your love.
Renewing of your Vows gives you that opportunity to have that Wonderful Bespoke Wedding that you always desired, simply now, because you can.
Whatever reason you may choose to renew your vows, I will write and conduct a beautiful, meaningful ceremony for you which reflects your story, your happy memories, laughter and challenges that as a couple you have shared together.
A personalised Renewal of Vows Ceremony Certificate will be presented to you to mark this memorable occasion.
